Whether it’s retirement, discontentment, or the dreaded future endeavoring, there’s no guarantee how long a wrestler is going to stay in the WWE. Here are 12 #WWE Superstars that will say goodbye in 2019!

***TOP 12 SPOILERS***

12. #BrockLesnar :
Regardless of how fans feel about Lesnar’s push and his rare appearances, it looks like from the WWE perspective Brock Lesnar is worth the robust money investment. Conventional wisdom had it that Lesnar was leaving at WrestleMania XXXIV, but the WWE continues to bring Lesnar back for occasional appearances and his recent Universal Championship win has some thinking he might be around for some time…

11. Bobby Roode:
With so much top talent scrambling for the top, it’s easy for the best of wrestlers to get lost in the WWE shuffle. One such wrestler is Bobby Roode, a star who has everything needed to succeed in the WWE, but…

10. Rusev:
It seems like it’s Rusev Day in the hearts and minds of the WWE Universe, yet the promotion continues to treat him like a guy who could end up on Superstars or Main Event at any moment. Despite the classic big man look the WWE loves and an undeniable chemistry with manager and real-life wife, Lana, Rusev hasn’t been given the chance to get over in the WWE…

9. Rhonda Rousey:
Although “Rowdy” Rhonda received one of the biggest pushes in WWE history, and seems to live up to it by improving in the ring every time she laces up her boots, there’s been talk of Rousey leaving the WWE as soon as her contract ends so she can start a family. Rousey has helped to get the WWE a lot of mainstream media attention and it’s safe to say they’ve used her wisely, giving her a strong push without making her the female equivalent of Brock Lesnar (a.k.a. crushing opponents only to disappear for months). If Rousey is leaving the WWE, they need to build up a program where she can make the company some money and put over their next top female star, something WrestleMania XXXV would be perfect for. Someone said Becky Lynch?

8. Tye Dillinger:
With a WWE career dating back to 2006, including a stint in the indie circuit from 2009-2013, Tye Dillinger has worked in Ohio Valley Wrestling, the WWE’s version of ECW, NXT, and the main roster…

7. Bobby Lashley:
Fans may be wondering why Bobby Lashley ever returned to the WWE. The dominant Superstar who entertained fans with power-based wrestling and mat wrestling during the “Ruthless Aggression Era” has been replaced by a plodding mass of muscles who is perpetually stuck in boring programs…

6. Mickie James:
Trish Stratus’ former stalker and renowned Women’s Champion Mickie James has reportedly been working without a contract since 2016…

5. Curtis Axel:
Third-generation Superstar Joseph Hennig has been in the WWE since 2007, working in its developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling from 2007-2010, then debuting on the main roster as a member of the Nexus. Whether he’s worked as Michael McGillicutty or Curtis Axel, Hennig hasn’t been able to break out of the mid-card…

4. Karl Gallows and Luke Anderson:
Gallows and Anderson’s WWE run has been as memorable as Gallows’ previous run in the WWE as Jesse and Festus. In that case, fans at least remember him as the guy who went from catatonia to mania when the bell rang…

3. Shinsuke Nakamura:
Another former New Japan Pro Wrestling star who jumped to the WWE is Shinsuke Nakamura. While Nakamura’s singles push was better than Gallows and Anderson’s, it’s generally considered a disappointment and even Shinsuke’s quest for the WWE Championship against A.J. Styles was seen as a huge letdown…

2. Dana Brooke:
Mention Dana Brooke and fans are just as likely to think of that blonde Brooke Hogan as they are to think of Dana Brooke…

1. Jeff Hardy:
Jeff Hardy has enjoyed a lengthy career, despite wrestling with personal demons and working a physically demanding schedule that had many fans predicting an early retirement similar to what happened to Edge and Mick Foley. Nonetheless, Jeff is working at age 41 and still taking the same sick bumps that shot him to stardom twenty years ago. However, Jeff’s career appears to be winding down and he’s become more the guy who gets others over. Jeff has lots of other projects besides wrestling and unlike brother Matt…

While these 12 Superstars will likely say goodbye in 2019, you can be certain more Superstars will rise to take their spot and that the WWE will always have more waiting to graduate from NXT to the main roster.
